Fashion and music have always gone hand in hand. You can often look at a community of people and identify the music they listen to based on their style and clothing, whether it be eyeliner and studded jackets or cowboy hats and plaid shirts. Music has always shaped my style and is reflected in the clothing I wear. My mood will often determine the clothing I choose to wear that day and the songs I put on in the car. For myself, music has always come first and the clothing has followed. Here, you can find an example of the music that I hold dear, that has formed who I am.
My band Apple of Basilisk’s music video for Weightless Amongst Perished Stars shows an array of beautifully unsettling visuals and lyrically covers the topic of death acceptance.

Lyrics:
When I look into the mirror, I see a desert in my face
How many dozens of times have I watched the earth dance around the sun
God or a void wait for me
Tree branches
Wrapped in flesh
Dried out
Lay and wait for the still, pale cold
What once carried desire has now rusted – corroded
To trudge on as a frail husk of what once was yields no reward
I have a wasp’s nest encased in my skull
I’ll crack my head in the brick
And relieve the incessant buzzing
I dry heave hundreds
They carry me to the sky
I am ready to be freed
I long to flail in the black
I am ready to be freed
