A capsule of three pendants for the third edition of ABRASIVE’S ongoing collaboration with tattoo artist Katzegraphy titled “CALTHEMITE”.
This refers to deposits of calcareous materials, growing on or under man-made structures and mimic the shapes and forms of cave speleothems such as stalactites.
As industrial relics, these objects form from the residue of society, new forms emerge through stripping back.
Structural wires underneath heavily soldered forms, as if the pendants themselves are forming over time, frozen in a state of becoming.
In their perpetual birth screams, dipped in ink they become tools of inscription, recording the descent of the Anthropocene.
