“Land” refer to the fundamental attributes and characteristics of a region, while “Humanity” are the tangible evidence of human activities. Together, they highlight the deep connection between a region and the history it carries. This concept reveals that land – especially when it comes to human settlement and cultural development – has a certain memory function that can both shape and reflect the civilizations that once lived there. By exploring the interactive relationship between humans and the natural world, we can understand the impact of human transformation on the landscape and the lasting marks left by humans. It emphasizes the mutual integration of the material world and the spiritual world, indicating that land is not a static setting for human survival, but a source of meaning, memory and spiritual connection.
The expression “The essence of the land; the traces of humanity” reveals the symbiotic relationship between the two. Human imprints constitute an intrinsic part of the land narrative, showing how humans interact with the environment and reshape nature. To truly understand the essence of land, we must recognize the human footprint and its profound impact on the natural world.

@sslk.scent uses the blend of scents and time to metaphorically represent the accumulation of the land. The curling smoke is like the historical context, which visualizes the silent dialogue between nature and humanity.
@dahaodahao uses traditional craftsmanship to reconstruct contemporary textures. The warp and weft of each grass stem is a microcosm of the symbiotic relationship between human and nature.
Ginger Q’s candle creation awakens the spirit of the place through fire. The solidified wax records the traces of time, while the leaping flame symbolizes the endless vitality of the land.
@tagliovivo uses the natural texture of vegetable tanned leather to carry traces of usage, becoming a witness to the mutual shaping of human activities and organic materials.
