<About the recently sold attractive furniture>
One of the recent vintage furniture pieces that stands out to me is Peter Ghyczy’s Garden Egg Chairs. These iconic chairs have a distinctive design that combines futuristic aesthetics with practical functionality, making them a true statement piece in any space. What I particularly admire about the Garden Egg Chairs is their innovative use of materials and their timeless appeal they effortlessly blend into both contemporary and classic interiors while adding a touch of elegance and sophistication.
The craftsmanship and attention to detail in these chairs are exceptional, reflecting Peter Ghyczy’s innovative approach to design. Seeing these chairs find new homes where they are appreciated for their unique style and historical significance is truly rewarding, as they continue to inspire and elevate the ambiance of their surroundings.

Do you have any memorable episodes or significant moments in the process of selling or purchasing vintage furniture?
Absolutely, there have been several memorable episodes during my journey in the vintage furniture business. One instance that stands out is when a seller tried to convince me that one chair was an Arne Jacobsen Egg chair.
Despite the seller’s convincing story and detailed description, my experience and knowledge told me otherwise. Upon closer inspection, I discovered inconsistencies that revealed it was a reproduction. This experience reinforced the importance of thorough verification and trusting my expertise when assessing the authenticity of vintage pieces.
Another significant moment occurred at a vintage fair where I found myself in a thrilling live auction against another dealer for a highly sought-after piece. The atmosphere was electric, with both of us determined to acquire the item. The auction became an intense but friendly competition, driving the price higher with each bid.
Ultimately, I secured the piece, and the experience not only provided a great story but also deepened my appreciation for the passion and dedication within the vintage furniture community. These moments highlight the challenges and excitement that come with sourcing and selling authentic vintage furniture.

What is the first thing you do when starting a new project?
When starting a new project, the first thing I prioritize is immersing myself in the furniture style that inspires me. I delve into its history, origins, and the cultural influences that shaped it. Understanding the nuances of the style allows me to envision how each piece contributes to the narrative I want to convey.
This deep dive helps me curate a collection that not only showcases the beauty and craftsmanship of vintage furniture but also tells a compelling story to our customers. By grounding myself in the essence of the furniture style, I ensure that every piece selected aligns with our vision at Avlas Vintage, enriching our offerings with authenticity and timeless appeal.

<About the object photography process>
When preparing to photograph our collections, I focus on revealing the rich history andunique s tories behind each item. To capture this essence, all our photos are taken with a film camera, which adds a timeless quality and depth to the images.
Each collection is imbued with a distinct mood, reflecting its unique character. My ideas for these visual narratives are complemented and brought to life by the very talented photographer Monika Markevičiūtė.
